Even though the vine Falanghina is thought to be one of the most ancient native variety in Campania, it has been catalogued in official documents only in the second half of ‘800. It was trained to the ancient Falange system, which is what most probably gave rise to the name “falanghina”. This wine is produced from grapes originating from Benevento and its province. Here, the calcareous soil…composed by sedimentary, soft rock substrates and sandstone rich in minerals delivers a very distinctive white which quickly conquered first the Italians and then a world reputation.   Its dry taste with a mineral finish makes it an ideal wine to partner sea food, fish dishes and fine meat dishes.
